Ross Kent
Global Manager, Field Application Scientists
Ross heads up the Field Application Scientists team at Synthace. Ross has been a passionate supporter for using multifactorial methods in biological research, and uses his own first-hand experience to help others apply it to their lab work. He educates scientists across the industry, then works closely with them to implement those methods and automation into existing projects and programs.
Ross' background is molecular biology, with experience in industrial and academic R&D. He has held positions at Syngenta, where he worked as an automation scientist, the University of Manchester, and Royal Dutch Shell in Houston Texas. He earned his PhD in Synthetic Biology from the University of Manchester, focusing on applying multifactorial methods and machine learning to the optimization and design of gene expression circuits.
Erika Wiseman
Field Application Scientist
Erika is a Field Application Scientist dedicated to helping Synthace customers apply multivariate methods to their research. She taps into her wealth of experience across assay development to deeply understand scientists’ current processes, before helping them get the best possible insights, in the least number of experiments.
Erika's deep expertise comes from over 17 years' experience across industry and academia. During her time at Kalypsys and Dart NeuroScience, she focused on lead discovery—from developing and optimizing biochemical and cellular assays for high throughput screening, to lead optimization. Additionally, at King's College London, she specialized in high content imaging and "big data" bioinformatic analysis, and at Scripps Research, she worked on antibody engineering, molecular biology, and immunology.
